Handwoven by
Andrea Klar
A woven fabric is essentially a unique set of interlacements woven in accordance with certain basic rules.
As weaver, I am continually looking for fresh ways of interpreting these underlying rules and, at the same time, applying and expanding my knowledge and experience of weaving techniques and structures.
I use materials on the basis of various features. On the one hand, intrinsic characteristics such as handle, texture - stiff, soft, smooth - lustre, elasticity ...
And on the other, colour. Colour lends emphasis, highlights, enhances the overall mood of the fabric.

Weaving has an organic aspect that never fails to fascinate and surprise me. During the weaving process, something happens - the fabric begins to take over, evolve, acquire a life of its own, and ultimately stand alone, a unique product.
